My kids love a good pumpkin patch, corn maze, hayride or trunk or treat event. But if you’re looking for additional ways to celebrate Halloween in the Bucks County, Montgomery County and Philadelphia area, there are other options as well! Check out this list to add to the Halloween fun this October.
Tip: Many of these are great ideas to keep in mind when it’s rainy and the weather doesn’t cooperate for outdoor Halloween events.
The Count’s Halloween Spooktacular At Sesame Place
When: Now through Nov. 3
Where: Sesame Place, 100 Sesame Road, Langhorne

Trick or treat, enjoy Halloween-themed shows, and go on a scarecrow scavenger hunt. The characters are dressed in costume, and there’s a special parade, too.
Fintastic Fall Days at Adventure Aquarium
When: Now through November 3
Where: 1 Riverside Drive, Camden

Visit the aquarium to see glowing gourds in the shapes of aquatic animals along with underwater pumpkin carvers. If you haven’t yet, this is a great time to get those FREE Pre-K passes for kids ages 2-5. You must register online and them bring the child with their birth certificate to the window outside the aquarium to redeem and activate their FREE year membership. October 27 is the last day.
The Great Pumpkin Fest at Dorney Park
When: Now through October 29, Saturdays and Sundays
Where: 4000 Dorney Park Road, Allentown
Dorney Park has an all-new Halloween experience for kids this year. Tricks and Treats is a family-friendly Halloween event on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. until October 27. There will be a Halloween costume contest, seasonal treats, face painting, pumpkin decorating, trick or treat maze and candy trail, Halloween themed shows and more.
Note: Dorney’s Halloween Haunt events are select nights during October and are recommended for ages 13 and up.
Peddler’s Village
When: Now through October 29
Where: Routes 202 and 263, Lahaska

Peddler’s Village offers several ways to celebrate Halloween and fall. Visit any day through October 27 to see the scarecrows throughout the Village. October 12-13 is OctoberFeast where you can enjoy food truck’s, live music, kid activities, etc. (This event is free.) October 21 – October 27 is the Pumpkin-Carving Contest. (Enter or just go to see the display.) And on October 26, there’s a kids’ Halloween party called Slightly Batty Halloween Wing Ding. Tickets are required.
Screamin’ Green Hauntoween at Crayola Experience
When: Now through October 31 daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: 30 Centre Square, Easton
Crayola Experience is celebrating the season with Halloween-themed crafts, a spooky scavenger hunt, character photo ops and more. New this yea, for an additional fee, you can also decorate a glowing ghost or pumpkin. On Saturdays and Sundays, you can also go trick or treating at stations throughout the building.
Morris ArBOOretum
When: Now through October 31, daily
Where: 100 E. Northwestern Avenue, Philadelphia
During the month of October, you can take a walk around Morris Arboretum & Gardens and enjoy more than 30 scarecrows along the Scarecrow Walk. This year’s theme is “Villians.” On October 16, there’s a free storytime for children 3-6 in the Outdoor Classroom from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. On Thursday, October 17, there’s a Scavenger Hunt and Costume Dance Party at 5 p.m. Tickets are $30 per carload. Tuesday, October 22 you can make a trick or treat bag craft.
Brick or Treat at Legoland Discovery Center
When: September 29 – October 31
Where: Plymouth Meeting Mall

During the month of October, Legoland Discovery Center will celebrate Halloween with special themed decor and activities. New for 2024! Brew up fun at the Potion Kitchen where families can combine two ingredients to make a magical potion. See the 4D movie – The Great Monster Chase. Make a Halloween build in Creative Workshop. Create a LEGO pumpkin for the pumpkin patch. Search for Monster Rockers in Miniland. There will also be trick or treating on the weekends.
Storybook Land
When: September 28 – October 29, Open Friday – Sunday, plus Columbus Day (October 14 from 11 to 5)
Where: 6415 Black Horse Pike, Egg Harbor
Fall is a great time to visit Storybook Land with a maze, hayride, and pumpkin patch in addition to the usual rides and storybook attractions. Storybook Land is open Saturdays and Sundays in September from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and then adds in Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in October. The final two weekends in October are special ticketed events with trick or treating throughout the park.
Diggerland’s Diggerfest
When: Weekends now through the end of November
Where: 100 Pinedge Drive, West Berlin
Diggerland’s fall festival features carnival rides, hay rides, pumpkin decorating, a petting zoo, live entertainment, a fun maze, bon fires, fall treats and more.
Note: Diggerland teamed up with Crayola Experience to offer free Crayola Experience tickets to the first 100 children that enter Diggerland during Fall Festival weekends!
New Hope Railroad
When: October 5 – October 27, Saturdays and Sundays, daily October 28 – October 31 at 6 p.m.
Where: 32 West Bridge Street, New Hope

New Hope Railroad offers a variety of fall and Halloween themed excursions. Their most kid-oriented ride is the Trick or Treat Train. It’s a 45-minute ride that goes to Lahaska and back. Kids are encouraged to come in costume and listen to a live reading of Spookley the Square Pumpkin. There will also be festive songs performed by the railroad’s musicians. Kids will receive trick or treat bags and will receive assorted treats on board the train and also while walking around the train station platform after arriving back in New Hope.
Pumpkin Trains from Black River Western Railroad
When: Saturday and Sunday starting September 30 – October 29 at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Where: 80 Stangl Road, Flemington

Catch the train at Flemington Station for a ride to Everitt Farms at Pumpkin Junction! Enjoy the activities at Pumpkin Junction (corn maze, sunflower field, pumpkin patch, games, wagon rides, etc) for about an hour before boarding your return train to Flemington. We did this event in 2022, and it was really cute and very affordable. Tickets are $22.99 for ages 12 and up, $16.99 for children 3-11. Children under 3 are free.
Franklin Fright at the Franklin Institute
When: Weekends in October from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Where: Franklin Institute, Philadelphia
Trick-or-treat your way through the museum, and experience classic live science shows performed alongside special guest Gourd’n the Giant Pumpkin Robot in an immersive Halloween-inspired environment.
Bucks County Libraries

Many of the locations host Halloween-themed movie nights and storytimes in the weeks leading up to Halloween.
The Free Library of Northampton is even hosting a Halloween-themed “Escape the Room” for kids in grades 3+ on October 10!
Boo at the Zoo: Elmwood Park Zoo
When: Saturdays and Sundays from Oct. 5 – Oct. 27 from 10:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: 1661 Harding Blvd., Norristown
Come in costume and bring your trick or treat bag. There will be activity and treat stations, live entertainment and music. Boo at the Zoo is included in zoo admission and free for Yearly Members.
The zoo also offers Trick or Treat nights October 24, 25, 26, and 27 from 5:30 to 8:30. Tickets include one free carousel ride and animal meet & greets.
The Great Pumpkin at Music Mountain Theatre
When: Saturdays from October 5 through October 26 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Where: 1483 Rt 179, Lambertville
An interactive show full of silly skits and spooky songs. Come in costume for a special bag and a chance to join the stage costume parade. There will be trick or treating after the show.
YMCA Boo Bash
When: Friday, October 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Where: Fairless Hills, Doylestown and Quakertown locations

Boo at the Zoo: Philadelphia Zoo
When: Saturdays and Sundays from October 12 though October 27 from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Where: 3400 Girard Avenue, Philadelphia
Visit the animals while you trick or treat around the zoo. There will also be seasonal decor, festive fall offerings, children’s activities and more.
Halloween Kids Party at Willow Grove Mall with Go with YOYO
When: Wednesday, October 16 from 11 a.m. to noon
Where: 2500 Moreland Road, Willow Grove (enter near TGIF. Event is bottom floor, near Macy’s.)
Live kids music and entertainment by Go with YOYO! There will be music, games, bubbles, a monster craft, balloons, etc. This event is FREE.
Otherworld Philadelphia Trick or Treat
When: Saturday and Sunday, October 19 & 20 and 26 & 17 from noon to 5 p.m.
Where:
Expect candy, fun, and Halloween surprises for all ages! (Plus all of Otherworld’s puzzle elements and rooms.) This is a great option for older kids, especially.
Goldfish Swim School Halloween Spooktacular
When: Sunday, October 20 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: 1661 Easton Road, Warrington
There will be trick or treating, crafts, snacks, costumes, and of course, swimming! This event is $5 per family, and if you sign up for lessons during the party, you receive a waived membership fee. Sign up HERE.
Halloween Party at We Rock the Spectrum NE Philly
When: Sunday, October 27 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: 12357 Academy Road, Philadelphia
Register by calling 215-904-6280 for one of two sessions. Come in costume for playtime, crafts, music and trick or treating with local vendors and businesses. $30 per child and $25 per sibling.
Funzilla Halloween Pumpkin King Party
When: Sunday, October 27 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Where: 500 Lincoln Highway, Fairless Hills
Games, face painting, costume contests, goody bag and a visit from The Pumpkin King! (Plus you get to play at Funzilla.) Tickets at $35 for children and $10 for adults. Reservation required.
Tricks and Treats at Pennsbury Manor
When: Sunday, October 27 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Where: 400 Pennsbury Memorial Road, Morrisville

Kids can trick or treat around the site. Help press cider, enjoy fall crafts, games, and more. This is a free event.
