Note: I received free tickets for this event; however, all opinions are my own. (Plus, I have friends that went another day that paid for their tickets, and they also had a great time!)
This past weekend, we had the opportunity to be hosted by Cirque Italia at their 50-themed water circus show in Langhorne under the big top set up in the Oxford Valley Mall parking lot.

Cirque Italia was created in 2012. It’s the story of the American dream combined with the tenacious leadership of an Italian entrepreneur, Manual Rebecchi. The result: an entertainment company known for its vivid European style performances. (Their corporate office is in Florida.) What really sets it apart from other traveling circuses it its “Aquatic Spectacular,” a custom-designed water stage that holds 35,000 gallons of water that are used to add dramatic touches throughout their shows.

For my kids, (ages 6 and 5) this was their first experience at a circus, and it was perfect. The striking white and blue tent was large enough to put on an impressive show, but small enough that there really were no bad seats in the house. There was enough going on that we were all sufficiently awed, but it wasn’t TOO loud or overstimulating for young children.

During the show, we laughed with clowns, were impressed by jugglers, gasped in awe at daring archery, and more. There were rollerskaters, contortionists, trapeze artists … and even something they refer to as the “Wheel of Death.” (You really have to see it to understand that one!)

It was a really fun family night, and my kids have been talking about it for days now. We’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for when they come to town again.

While the Langhorne run is over, you can still catch this family-friendly Cirque Italia show this summer in Dover, Delaware August 24 through September 4. (There are also shows this fall in MA and NY.) Tickets range from $15 to $60 and can be purchased online HERE. Use the code FACEFREE to receive one free children’s ticket with the purchase of an adult ticket. Children’s tickets are for ages 2-12. Children under the age of 2 are free but must sit on a lap.

If you’re looking for an ADULT night out, Cirque Italia will return to Bucks County at the end of September with their Paranormal Cirque show! They’ll be setting up their tent in the parking lot of Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem from September 28 through October 1. This show is geared toward adults 17 years and older. Guests ages 13-17 must be accompanied by an adult. No one under the age of 13 will be admitted.
