Last year, I wrote a gift guide full of unicorn-themed presents! And since Pokemon has been the big obsession in our house for the past year, I thought I’d do a dedicated Pokemon gift guide now.
Here are over 17 gift ideas that are perfect for Christmas, birthdays, or any occasion where you want to make your little Pokemon fan smile.
My son (7 years old) and daughter (almost 6) have many of the things on this list, or they’re things I’m ordering myself to give him for Christmas!
So if you’re buying for a Pokemon fan, I hope you’ll find something on this list that they’ll love!

1. Books
Here are some of our favorite Pokemon books that are great for early readers and learning more about the world of Pokemon.
A Friend Like Pikachu: Great if your child wants to learn more characters.
Pokemon Seek and Find: This book has a little of everything – text to read, seek and find pictures and stickers.
Pokemon Primers: These books are so cute for preschool age and up! My daughter got the ABC one last year, and I’ve given it as a gift, too. There are a bunch of them: Letters, Numbers, Colors, Emotions, etc. And they’re lift the flap!
2. Pikachu Plush: Every Pokemon fan needs a Pikachu plushie! This one is the perfect cuddly size that’s not too big for taking places. And if your child is a collector (like mine) they’ll also want Pikachu wearing a Santa hat!
3. Pikachu Hoodie: Both of my kids have a bunch of Pokemon clothes and pajamas at this point, but THIS hoodie is by far the most worn. It was their favorite jacket in spring and fall, and they wear it around the house pretending to be Pikachu, too.
4. Pokemon Labyrinth Board Game: Great strategy game for kids 7 and up. My son got this for his birthday, and we’ve enjoyed playing it!
5. Pokemon Blocks: You won’t find Pokemon LEGO, but they DO sell Pokemon MEGA blocks, which are very similar. My son already has quite the collection, but I’m really excited to give him the Holiday Train this Christmas!
Here are a few other sets he’s either getting or already has:
Pokemon MEGA station
Pokemon MEGA Windmill with motion
Pokemon Piplup’s Snow Day with motion
Pokemon MEGA Jungle Ruins
6. Pokemon Card Binder: If your kid is into Pokemon cards, you’ll soon be finding cards all over your house. (At least they don’t hurt like LEGO when you step on them?!) My son LOVES organizing his cards in his binder.
7. Pokemon Card Case: And if they like to actually PLAY with their cards, a case like this makes it easy for them to take the cards in and out but still keep them safe when not in use.
8. Pokemon Comictivity Book: My son owns this AND I’ve given it to other kids at birthdays. Great combo of coloring, comics, stickers, and more. Plus, a cute pencil topper.
9. Pikachu Beanie and Gloves: So cute, they might not fight wearing their hat and gloves this winter.
10. Clip ‘n’ Go Poke Balls with Belt: Great toy for your Pokemon trainer!
11. Pokemon Battle Figures: It’s a tough call what gets played with more in our house – Pokemon cards OR Pokemon battle figures. We have a big collection due to a few Advent calendars from Aldi (definitely the best deals when you break it down per figure!), but THIS is a cute reasonably priced set. This Pokemon Carry Case Playset is also a top item on my son’s Christmas List this year.
12. Pokemon Mad Libs: I ordered this for a stocking stuffer!
13. Pokemon Water Bottle: We rarely leave the house without water bottles!
14. Pokemon Art Case: My son got this for his birthday, and it’s been a big hit. It comes with coloring pages, stickers, character stands, crayons, markers … and it’s all in a case that clips shut. It’s great for bringing to restaurants or when traveling.
15. Plush Detective Pikachu: This is a surprise gift I’m really excited to give my son because I don’t think he knows he exists! Instead of your usual Pikachu plush, this one looks more realistic like he does in the movie Pokemon Detective Pikachu, which is a favorite in our house.
16. Vinyl Pokemon stickers: Great stocking stuffers! I bought a pack of these before my son’s birthday, and kids used them for decorating water bottles (that I got at Dollar Tree.) Also can be used on laptops, skateboards, notebooks, etc.
17. Snorlax Squishmallow: Squishmallows are pretty much universally loved among kids these days. There’s also a Pikachu (and a few other characters), but a squishy Snorlax is extra cute!
